What Card Condition Terms Usually Mean
A beginner-friendly explanation of common condition language used in trading-card marketplaces.
Terms such as Near Mint, Lightly Played, Moderately Played, Heavily Played, and Damaged describe physical condition, but exact standards vary by marketplace.
Photos matter. For expensive cards, inspect corners, edges, surface wear, centering, creases, dents, and scratches before buying.
A grading-company score is different from a marketplace condition label. Each grading company uses its own standards and process.
When a listing description and photos disagree, ask the seller for clarification before purchasing.
Educational information only. Verify current marketplace policies, prices, availability, grading standards, and seller terms before purchasing.
